Hutchins in his History of Dorset, furnishes a list of rectors in the village if Catherston in that county. Samuel Norrington was appointed to that living in 1599, and he continued to hold it till 1640, when he was sequestered. In that years is the entry in the Church Register, Bartholomew Westley, intruder, he was ejected after the Restoration. Timothy Hallett, succeeded him March 4th, 1662 |
Samuel Norrington 1599. He was sequestrated in 1640. His widow in her petition to the corporation for mini stresses widows saysector of Catherston held this living for that he left her and 5 children extremely poor. The distressed widow received the relief solicited in her petition., |
